A french predreadnought with those weird tumblehome sides. USS Arkansas Espana (spanish) HMS Lord Nelson, one of the last predreadnoughts Gangut (russian dreadnought) I would also like to see the Royal Soveriegn and Warspite classes done in injection, so it wouldn't cost so much for these large classes. The cover is "frame quality" depicting the Arizona under attack. It is the 1/720 model a member needs for his scratch built attempt. I've seen it recently in West Coast hobby shops. Perhaps Bill Gruner at Pacific Front Hobbies...? But please cover the ones that have never seen the light of day in any form except scratchbuilding. Mark Knowlton ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) From: Ian K Wilkins Subject: Iron Duke Hi, I am currently working on the Airfix 1/600 scale HMS Iron Duke kit. I'd like to add a suggestion of rivet/bolt detail to the turrets. These are quite prominent on drawings of the ship. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this and still maintain a semblance of in scale appearance? Also, does anyone have any ideas on the colours for ships boats in HM ships during the inter war years? Most photographs seem to show pinnaces and launches as quite dark in colour. Does anyone knoe whether this was a dark blue? Its now at: http://student.uq.edu.au/~s320290/shipmods.htm There is a forwarding page at the old site but it probably will not be there for more than a few days. Thank you Ian Wilkins ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From: SantMin Subject: Re: 1/720 Arizona >> Looking for the old 1:720 Revell USS Arizona kit to get the four 14" turrets for a scratchbuilding project. Anybody got a spare kit they'd be willing to sell me? Looks like it is out of production at the moment. << I've got a Matchbox 1/720 USS Arizona. As far as I can see it's the same kit.
