Loyalhanna has very nice flags for that scale, but I have trouble getting them to drape realistically. By the way, awhile back I bought a set of flag decals from GMM, but found some of the flags to be out-of-register. I sent them back to GMM with a note requesting replacement and a dollar bill to cover postage. Quick as a flash I received a new decal sheet, an apology, and my dollar back! That's what I call a first-class operation! Thanks, Loren Perry. You will get some book sellers with copies available. Good luck. There are photos on Nav source of Card with cocooned Phantoms on deck and there are also two shots of Croatan showing her as outfitted as a ferry carrier complete with fixed cranes on the flight deck. John Snyder in a post in SMML vol 366 also mentions Terzibaschitsch's Escort Carriers and Aviation Support Ships of the US Navy, as a source for photographs of Vietnam era carriers in use as ferries. It is a sort of condensation of common and useful U.S.Navy Regulations. Any leads will be appreciated. << Franklin, I have that particular copy of the blue jackets manual (1917). I found it at bn.com in the out of print book section, that would be a good place to start your search. you can contact me off list at cdrski@aol.com for more info about the book if you like. Jim -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) From: Joel Labow Subject: Bluejacket's Manual Franklyn, The Bluejacket's Manual was (and is) the basic textbook used in Navy boot camp for new enlistees. It is still very much in print. To find a 1917 edition I would recommend searching a used book database such as . It seems that white they'll be! If I had just used my army camouflage training I guess I would have had the answer. Again, thank you all. Not ready to part with it, but if you have a paticular question I can check for the answer. There are a lot of interesting things in it, but it is focused on the individual and has very few items relating to the navy as an organization. I have the following Bluejackets Manuals: 1918 sixth ed. 1940 tenth ed. 1943 eleventh ed. 1944 twelveth ed. 1950 fourteenth ed. 1959 fifteenth ed. 1960 sixteenth ed. 1963 seventeenth ed. 1973 eighteenth ed. The mounts will be sold in packs of five, with gunhouses and barrels separate to allow individual elevation. As announced previously, these have the correct offset that is lacking on the Tamiya 1/350 FLETCHER, and the correct shape of the gunhouse. They will make a real difference to those Tamiya kits, or any other 1/350 USN subject that requires them. Peter Hall is making some minor improvements to the master, which should go to production early next week. Step right up with your pre-orders.
