Greetings, Michiel Woort ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From "Loren Pike" Subject Best Yamato/Musashi in 700th I have found the following kits listed in 700th scale and would like to know the collective wisdom of this group as to which kits are felt to be the most accurate "out of the box". The kits are Nichmo 1700 #7001 IJN Yamato (BB) #7002 IJN Musashi (BB) Seaway/Fujimi 1700 #42131 IJN Yamato (BB) "as commissioned" #42132 IJN Musashi (BB) "as commissioned" #42133 IJN Yamato (BB) "battle of Leyte Sea..." #42134 IJN Musashi (BB) "battle of Leyte Sea..." Tamiya 1700 #WLB 009 IJN Yamato (BB) "old mold" (vintage 1970's) #WLB 013 IJN Musashi (BB) "old mold" (vintage 1970's) #113 IJN Yamato (BB) "new mold" (vintage late 1990's) #114 IJN Musashi (BB) "new mold" (vintage late 1990's) If I were to buy 1 each (a Yamato and a Musashi), which two kits would be the best/most accurate without have to buy multiple aftermarket sets to upgrade. Thank you in advance... Loren Pike ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From WRPRESSINC@aol.com Subject Re WW1 camouflage on WW11 destroyer in 1940 Is it possible to see the photo in question? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) From "Francisco Javier Chaves" Subject Model shops in Barcelona Hello. I don't live in Barcelona, but I go there every other month. I list a few shops there, although you can find a lot more looking in the yellow pages under "Modelismo", "modelisme", "hobbies", "maquetas", "juguetes", "joguines". About Museums don't know anything, but if you ever go to Madrid, don't miss Aviation Museum at Cuatro Vientos Airfield, simply superb... Don't worry about taking pictures now, Spain is a very friendly country, you can go safely -almost- anywhere, even by night, but if you feel that taking pictures in any place can be "suspicious", don't worry, just ask for permission and if they say yes, you know... If you happen to be there any Sunday morning, there is a flea market in "Mercado de San Antonio",. There are a few guys that have a lot of literature about planes ships, tanks, etc, and they also have kits. You can find very interesting things there. If you really happen to be the very first Sunday of each month there, there is another market in "Plaza Massadas" - Palau, c/ Balmes 4, Metro Linea 1 (red) - estacion Universitat or estacion Catalunya. Just five to ten minutes walking from the Ramblas. - Poly, c/ Aribau 7, Very near Palau. Metro linea 1 (red) - estación Universitat. - Speedy Pacheco, Ronda Universitat 3, Midway Palau and Poly. Old kits there... - Maquetismo, c/ Numancia, 84. Metro 3 (green) Sants Estacio (Main Station) or estacion Plaça del Centre. - **Kit Car 43**, c/ Rossello 308. http//www.kitcar43.com/ . Everything about cars!!!! Metro linea 4 (yellow) - estacion Verdaguer. - **Jordi Rubio**, Avda. Gaudi 56, www.jordirubio.com Mostly army things. Metro linea 2 (violet) - estación Sagrada Familia or linea 5 (blue). - Mabar, Rambla Volart, 14. Metro linea 5 (blue) estacion Camp de L'arpa. Mostly trains, but the place to go for trains... Just to let you know, small translation c/ means Street. Avda. means Avenue. Metro means Subway, Underground. Linea means Line. Estación / Estació means Station. Have a nice weekend, and I hope this can be useful to everyone that wants to come here. Best regards. Francisco Javier. PS Ahhh. I forgot.... There are a lot of huge shoe shops among those three kit shops near the Ramblas... So you can "park" there your other half meanwhile you dive into our subject... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out the SMML site for the List Rules, Backissues, Member's models & reference pictures at http//smmlonline.com Check out the APMA site for an index of ship articles in the Reference section at http//apma.org.au/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- End of Volume
