Can somebody confirm the existence at I believe the turn of the 20th century a British cruiser with one of those Greek/Roman names so beloved by R.N, that in theory when the hull was damaged and sank the upper works sailed on to fight another day, honest. I further think the ship was stationed in the far east. This is not windup but a real inquiry. Ed in the brig ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From "Gary Mansfield" Subject KGV QUESTIONS - AMENDMENT Hi SMML Pals, Ref my last post. It should be Warship quarterly Vol III NOT Vol II. Sorry for that! GARY ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From Mike Potter Subject KGV Questions >>Look in Warship Quarterly Volume II, (out of print now? Got my copy from WEM years ago)! Loads of detail on these Battleships, the drawings are small but you will get the idea! Some good ideas for further information on the last SMML! << This book is available right now on EBay as item 4517966890. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From ALROSS2@aol.com Subject Re RCN hydrofoils Is this the R-103? If so, I did some drawings of it years ago for Tom Lynch's book THE FLYING 400. This book contains a selection of material on a variety of hydrofoils, although the focus is the 400. Al Ross ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) From Fred and Diana Subject RCN Hydrofoils Rob The book "The Flying 400" by Thomas G. Lynch ISBN 0-920852-22-X gives details on the transfer of the Bras d'Or (R-103) to Canada. It was proposed the Bras d'Or would be transported to Halifax as part of the deck cargo of the new RCN carrier, Bonaventure. Delivery of Bonaventure was delayed until Jan 57, after acceptance trials she sailed with Bras d'Or in May for Halifax, arriving 26 June 57. If you require additinal info please contact me. Cheers, Fred From the crowsnest ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) From Fred and Diana Subject HMCS Labrador I have a set of plans for the Labrador and photos, altough few, that will be of help. The plans are profile, GAs of main deck, upper deck, nav bridge & command position. The photo are not the best but the photos of the museum model will be of great assistance. I have been wanting to do this for some time so I can add a bunch of new parts. Being too cheap to buy a kit just for the instructions, I was wondering if anyone out there has a set they can scan and send my way. Any help would be much appreciated.
