This, the fifth volume of Plastic Ship Modeller saw a change
in numbering from a yearly basis to a volume and issue format due to publishing
    delays caused by equipment failures.

With the conclusion of Alan Raven's multi-part camouflage series the year
before, these four magazines focus more on modelling articles. Ray Bean concentrated
on aircraft carriers, finishing off his 1/400 HMS Bonaventure diorama and
starting a multi-part series on Essex class 27c conversions while Kerry Jang
looked at Bluejacket 1/192 USS Gambier Bay CVE-73. Ken Summa built the 1/350
Classic Warships USS Washington. PSM also featured scratchbuilding the USCG
Tampa in 1/700, Iron Shipwright's USS Detroit in 1/350 and the MV Empire Macalpine
scratchbuild in 1/700 plus the stunning dioramas of Chris Drage.

Articles included SMS Emden colours, USS Porter 1942, HMS Kittiwake, Petr
Velikij, Imperial Russian Cruiser Askold, IJN Seaplane tenders while merchant
naval articles looked at American tramp steamers, trunk steamers and turret
ships, SS Californian, RMS Carpathia and the SS Scot.
Photo features were Chris Drage's dioramas, RN Carriers in Australia,
RN Cruisers in WW2 and IJN Chiyoda.

This volume began a new feature called Bibliophile in which Dan looks at books
covering the same topic. Books on the RMS Titanic and ship modelling were
    covered.
